Crewe Vagrants Squash Club has landed a second year of sponsorship from homebuilder, Taylor Wimpey North West.
The £500 contribution will be used to fund professional players to coach and train alongside the team, which plays in the North West Counties Squash League Division 1, one of the largest leagues in the world.
Mike Hobson, club chairman, said: “Last year’s donation ensured we were able to grow our position in the division, and this year’s support will further help their achievements with the assistance of more professional players.
“We were lucky enough to have world number 22 Declan James work with the players last season, which gave the club a massive boost.
“We’re excited to welcome more professional players into the club this year to work with the team and can’t wait to learn from them.
“We’re so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for the continued support. With this contribution the players can focus on challenging themselves and competing at a higher level.”
Crewe Vagrants, on Newcastle Road in Willaston, is close to Taylor Wimpey’s Willowbrook Grange and Stoneley Park developments in Shavington.
Stuart Craig, head of sales for Taylor Wimpey North West, added: “We were thrilled to see the team perform so well last year and are pleased to be able to continue our support again.
“It’s wonderful to see a local team excelling so much in its field.
“It’s important for us to support the communities we’re a part of and championing sport is the perfect way to encourage teamwork, health and fitness.”
