Vehicle display on Audlem - festival of transport Playing Field after parade (2) (1)

Hundreds of villagers enjoyed the 19th annual ‘Audlem Festival of Transport’, writes Jonathan White.

There was a spectacular parade of more than 100 cars, commercial vehicles, tractors and motorcycles.

The vehicles assembled at Hankelow Green and left for Audlem with the parade arriving at Audlem Playing Field off Cheshire Street at 11.30am.

There were stalls from Reaseheath College, Blackhurst Garages (Whitchurch), Glen Miller music from Moonlight Serenade, a Punch & Judy show from Pinxton Puppets, a tombola and numerous refreshments stands.

Car manufactures on view included AC, Alfa Romeo, Alvis, Austin, Bedford, Bugatti, Caterham, Citroen, Daimler, Ford, Holden, Honda, Jaguar, Lagonda, Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes, MG, Morris, Porsche, Riley, Rolls-Royce, Rover, Saab, Triumph, TVR, Vauxhall and VW.

Tractor manufactures on view included Ferguson, Field-Marshall, Fordson and Massey Ferguson.

Truck manufactures on view included Bedford and Morris Commercial.

There was also an Albion Nimbus bus that visitors could board to inspect the interior.

The event was free to attend and would not have been possible without the sponsorship, donations and volunteers.

Audlem Parish Council and Cheshire East Council were aided by sponsors including Baker Wynne & Wilson, MK Preece, Reaseheath College, Car Transplants, Adderley Garage, Audlem Electrical, Audlem Chip Shop, Blackhurst Garage, Bradshaws, DA Roberts, James Gorse, Lyon Griffiths, Markden Homes, Nantwich Windows, PET Hire, Graham Tressider & Sons, Cooper Buckley and Mornflake.

Audlem Festival of Transport was organised by the Audlem Special Events Team (ASET).

ASET is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers dedicated to making Audlem a vibrant village.
