Bungling burglars were ‘smoked out’ and fled empty-handed after breaking in to a petrol station in Nantwich.

The two offenders forced their way in to the Sainsbury’s petrol station on Middlewich Road just before 2am yesterday (July 22).

Once inside, they attempted to break in to the back office but activated a “smoke cloak” anti-intruder system.

This caused the building to fill with smoke, forcing the pair to flee the scene empty-handed.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said they have a description of one of the suspects who is a man, about 6ft tall and large build.

He was wearing a dark fleece, a balaclava and trainers.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
