Sam Wakefield challenges for the ball against Alsager

Nantwich Town suffered a defeat in their latest pre-season encounter away at Alsager Town, writes Jonathan White.

The Dabbers took a less experienced “Nantwich Town XI” to Alsager for the game at the Wood Park Stadium on Thursday night.

Alsager, who play in the North West Counties League Division One South, fielded a first team while Nantwich, captained by Toby Mullarkey, fielded a mixture of senior, junior and trialists.

A goal in each half sealed victory for ‘The Bullets’ with strikes from Brad Snape on 25 minutes into the first-half, and Jack Edwards early in the second-half.

The Dabbers take on League One side Blackpool FC today (July 21) at Weaver Stadium, kick off noon.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
