Wybunbury Road in Willaston - sink hole

Drivers are being warned to avoid Wybunbury Road in Willaston after a “sink hole” appeared.

The hole is between the junction of Eastern Road and Green Lane, and the route is currently closed, says Cheshire Police.

It’s the second sink hole to appear on a well-used local route in two days after the “Church Lane Chasm” emerged in Wistaston on June 26.

Nantwich Police said: “On initial assessment it is likely the road maybe closed for some time.”

The large hole which appeared in the middle of Church Lane is believed to have been caused by drainage.

One resident said they noticed a ‘depression’ in the road, next to the entrance to yet to be built Witters Field housing estate.

Police initially coned off the affected area, and now Highways Agency have fenced off the hole and setup temporary traffic lights.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
