A500 fire on embankment

A vehicle fire damaged the A500 Shavington bypass embankment.

The incident happened on the dual carriageway heading towards the Shavington roundabout.

When crews from Nantwich and Alsager arrived, the fire had spread from the car to the grassy embankment, already very dry from recent weather.

Crews used beaters and a hose reel to put out the blaze.

A thermal imaging camera was used to inspect the vehicle.

One lane was closed off while crews dealt with the fire.

The fire happened at around 12.40pm yesterday (June 20).

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
