A motorcyclist killed in the two-vehicle smash on the A530 at Alvaston near Nantwich has been named as Anthony Rushton.

The 58-year-old grandad, from Chesterton, was riding along the Middlewich Road when he collided with a blue Mazda 5.

Anthony was confirmed dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 47-year-old man from Tarporley, was uninjured.

The incident closed the road for most of Sunday (June 17) close to the junction with Colleys Lane.

Cheshire Police have launched an appeal for dashcam footage following the collision at around 11am on Sunday.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

“Inquiries in relation to the collision are currently ongoing and anyone with any information in relation is asked to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 96255.
