weaver wander

Young and old packed into Nantwich town centre to enjoy the annual Weaver Wander vintage and classic car rally.

The event, organised by Crewe and Nantwich Weaver Rotary Club, saw hundreds of amazing vehicles from the last 100 years pass through the town.

Nantwich Deputy Mayor Cllr Arthur Moran took the flag to wave off the cars through the town square, where vehicles headed off east
to the picturesque Tudor manor house, Gawsworth Hall.

There were three separate routes that vehicles could take to the Peak District, comprising two routes of around 60 miles each and a shorter route of approximately 40 miles.

so as to ensure that we don’t create any unnecessary traffic problems ‘en route’.

Participants had earlier registered their vehicles at Reaseheath College from 8am onwards yesterday (May 26).

Local vehicle breaker and disposal firm Car Transplants, based at Wardle, was once again the main sponsor for the event which has helped to raise thousands for charity.

The rotary club’s chosen charities for 2018 include Lifebox Foundation and RFU Injured Players Foundation.

Other charities to benefit will be Nantwich Mayoral Charities Nantwich Museum, Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as Crewe Mayoral Charities including CLIMB & Homelessness organisations.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
