Liverpool’s legendary European Cup winning captain and Sky Sports pundit Phil Thompson will be guest speaker at Nantwich Town’s Sports Dinner.
Regulars who watch Sky’s Soccer Saturday with Jeff Sterling will know “Thommo” as a popular pundit who is also highly regarded on the dinner speaking circuit.
This year he was a finalist in the “Soccer Speaker of the Year” held at the Hilton in Manchester, thanks to his stories about his time as Liverpool captain under both Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley and as England captain.
Stories will also include his close relationship with fellow pundits such as Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier.
Phil is supported at the Nantwich dinner by stand up comedian Jimmy Carrol, with a three-course meal, including cheese and biscuits.
There is also a charity auction and raffle prizes.
The Sports Dinner is on Thursday May 3.
