Thousands across South Cheshire felt tremors today after a 4.4 earthquake affected parts of Wales and England.

Shaking has been reported across south Wales, the south west of England and the Midlands.

People in Nantwich and surrounding villages say homes and buildings shaking, but no damage has been reported.

Early data from the United States Geological Survey measured the quake to be a 4.2 magnitude tremor.

The British Geological Survey said it was in the process of analysing data.

Their early reports say the earthquake measured 4.4 at a depth of 7.4km, with the epicentre 20km away from Swansea.

Reports from the US Geological Survey say it struck at 2.31pm but at a depth of llkm.

Police forces in Wales say they have received “extremely high call volume” reporting tremors.

    Yeah I felt the earthquake.
    At 14.33pm
    House was shaking like a wave rushing through the house, I felt it in the living room.
    Only for a few second or so.
    Scary
