St Marys Acton tower - volunteers prepare to serve visitors

‘Tea at the Tower’ takes place at St Mary’s Church, on Monks Lane in Acton every Sunday, writes Jonathan White.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours up the church tower as far as the ringing chamber from 2.30pm to 4.30pm throughout the year.

Tea at the Tower organisers aim to provide a welcome place for the community, and cakes and drinks are free.

However, organisers are grateful for the generous donations received.

A representative from St Mary’s Church said: “We really enjoy welcoming our visitors and love to hear how much it means to people.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
