Albert Pye honoured at NantwichTown

Nantwich Town stalwart Albert Pye has been honoured for clocking up and amazing half a century of service for the club.

Albert was presented with an award at yesterday’s Boxing Day home game against Sutton Coldfield.

Alan Allcock, the recently retired operations director of Evo-Stik NPL and member of the Cheshire FA, was invited to the Weaver Stadium to make the presentation.

Albert, who is a director of the Nantwich Football Trust which owns the stadium freehold and a club Life Vice-President, continues to help out whenever he can.

He has taken on many roles for the club during his time including chairman and more recently as match day host for visiting officials.

A spokesman for the club said: “In this day and age, Albert’s devotion to a single football club is rare – if not unique.

“Congratulations to Albert on receiving the award!”

Nantwich went on to draw 0-0 with Sutton Coldfield in front of more than 300 supporters.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
