Families are being warned of disruption caused by heavy snow forecast to hit South Cheshire tomorrow.

An Amber warning has been issued by the Met Office for heavy snow between 4am and 6pm throughout Sunday, which could leave up to 20 centimetres in low lying areas.

The warning says people should be prepared for disruption to roads, rail and air travel.

It also warns that some rural communities in the borough could be completely cut off.

The warning says: “A spell of heavy snow is likely over parts of Wales, the Midlands and parts of Northern and Eastern England on Sunday.

“Road, rail and air travel delays are likely, as well as stranding of vehicles and public transport cancellations. There is a good chance that some rural communities could become cut off.”

Cheshire Police have warned motorists to stay off the roads over the weekend unless it’s necessary to travel.

“Be prepared for the bad weather this weekend and plan your journey before you set off.

“Check the weather forecast and drive carefully.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
