A family has appealed for help to identify a house featured in a painting believed to be based in Nantwich area.

Mark Robinson says the painting (pictured) has been in his family for more than 50 years.

He had thought it depicted a building in Wybunbury called The Cliffe.

But now believes it features another building.

Mark, who used to live in Congleton but has moved out of the area, said: “The painting has been in the family for over 50 years to my knowledge.

“It was believed to be of the Cliffe in Wybunbury because a relative worked for the Bristow family who were believed to have owned that house and Combermere Abbey where my Great Aunt worked.

“But now we’ve found that to be a black and white half timbered property.

“The painting belonged to my grandmother whose family are from Wybunbury and the wider Nantwich area.

“I am hoping some Nantwich News readers might be able to help me identify the property and where it is?”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
