Christmas - Santa's float, Round Table

Santa’s started out on his Crewe and Nantwich rounds – but volunteers are still needed to help him.

The traditional Crewe & Nantwich Round Table Santa float has begun its journey around South Cheshire.

Over the next 15 days, it will visit thousands of homes while collecting donations for good causes.

But more collectors are needed to help out on the increasingly busy itinerary.

Stephen Robb, of the Round Table, said: “This year Santa will be out for more nights than ever before!

“He will visit more of Crewe and Nantwich.

“In particular we have a third Shavington night (on 6th December) which is exclusively to visit the various new estates.

“This is a huge undertaking, and any help we can get is always gratefully received.

“The more collectors we have, the quicker we can get done and sometimes when numbers are low, we really struggle to complete the route by 9pm when we have to stop.

“If you are able to come out and help any night, please message the page
@CreweNantwichDistrictRoundTable.

“We are a very friendly bunch, and it is always a fun night!”

On December 4, 5 and 6, he will be in Shavington Village and new housing estates, and on December 7 visiting Hough and Weston village.

On Satuarday December 9, Santa will be in Nantwich town square in the day, and then travelling to Audlem in the evening.

Santa will be at Co-op Stapeley on Sunday afternoon December 10, before returning to Audlem that evening.

Then on December 11 and 12, he’ll be in Willaston village, and in Wybunbury and Basford on December 13.

On December 15, Father Christmas will be welcoming youngsters from Nantwich Barony area, and on December 16 in Crewe town centre in the day and Wychwood Park in the evening.

His final three days of an exhausting schedule will be Crewe Road in Nantwich on December 17, London Road Nantwich on December 18 and finally arriving at Worleston and Barbridge on Tuesday December 19.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
