A Service of Remembrance will take place this Sunday 12th November 2017 at 3pm at the Wistaston Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Wistaston.

During the service one of the sixteen World War 2 heroes from Wistaston will be remembered: Lance Sergeant George Powell, Royal Corps of Signals, who died on Monday 27th May 1940, aged 21. He is buried in Hazebrouck Communal Cemetery, France.

The Memorial Hall Committee is dedicated to managing the building to ensure that the memory of the sixteen Wistonians who perished in WW2 is not forgotten.
