lewis crossley, fighting leukaemia

A charity ball is being planned to help the family of battling youngster Lewis Crossley in his fight against a rare cancer.

Lewis, of Hough, near Shavington, was diagnosed with T Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and has undergone challenging treatments including multiple courses of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

But in June, the seven-year-old and his family received devastating news he had once again relapsed.

Now local business TFC Supplies aims to raise money in a bid to fund specialist treatment.

The November 11 event is a black-tie charity ball at Crewe Hall Hotel

Friends, family and members of the local community are being urged to sign up to the spectacular night of entertainment and fundraising.

Entertainment will be provided by Manchester’s indie favourites – The Rainband, who have earned rave reviews from the likes of Liam Gallagher and Jim Kerr.

Their accolades include headlining the Italian Moto GP, playing alongside Paolo Nutini and achieving top 10 positions in the UK Indie singles chart.

The big-hearted band, led by singer Martin Finnigan, are donating their services to the event.

The aim of the ball is to raise as much money as possible for Lewis and his chosen charity – the Joe Gilligan Trust – which aims to improve the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.

A special auction will be held on the night, run by Hassall Brothers Auctioneers.

Many items have already been donated by TFC Supplies, the Dysart Arms, Crocky Trail, Crewe Hall, Wendy’s Flowers, Blue Planet Aquarium, Skin Health Spa, White Hart at Hough, Francesco, Grace Ladies Boutique, Hair 38, BizzyBods, Finefoodies Deli, Joanne Humphries Photography, Assurant, Hoity Toity Shoes and Si Belle.

Rolana Wright, general manager of TFC Supplies, said: “I have been friends with Lewis’ dad since our school days and have followed Lewis’ progress throughout his treatment.

“He is an unbelievably brave little boy and I am in absolute in awe of him.

“I am sure it will be a wonderful evening – the whole team are pulling out-the-stops to make it a night to remember.

“We have been incredibly touched by the kindness and generosity that both the band and local businesses have shown – it’s community spirit at its best.”

Tickets for the event are £50 per person, available by calling Paula Hassall on 01270 781158 or emailing [email protected] or [email protected]

Various sponsorship packages are also available.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
