RSPCA staff on Sandstone Trail challenge

Five intrepid animal-lovers from Nantwich tackled Cheshire’s Sandstone Trail to raise funds.

The team walked the 55km-long Sandstone Trail hoping to raise £1,000 for Nantwich’s Stapeley Grange wildlife centre on London Road.

They began at 5.30am yesterday (September 23) and walked the trail, which goes from Frodsham to Whitchurch, in 14 hours.

The team was led by the centre’s manager Lee Stewart, and included Lee’s wife Laura, RSPCA press officer Rachel Butler, vet surgeon Teresa
Prohens and vet intern Marco Vecchiato.

Stapeley Grange, in London Road, admits approximately 7,000 wild, domestic and exotic animals every year.

The centre is also home to a cattery, which rehomes hundreds of cats – many rescued from abuse – every year.

Lee said there was “slight trepidation” in tackling the walk, but that it was all for a good cause.

“Every penny that we raise will go towards the rehabilitation of the thousands of wildlife patients admitted to the hospital,” he added.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
