Hankey - altercation nantwich - County Lines charged and in court

A man has been charged with arson after a fire in a Nantwich flat left four people needing hospital treatment.

The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday August 26 at block of flats on James Hall Street, Nantwich.

Police and fire attended the scene and four people were taken to hospital, non are believed to have suffered serious injurious.

Steven Melton, 29, was arrested by officers investigating the incident.

He has subsequently been charged with Possession of a Class B drugs (Cannabis) and Arson with intent/reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Melton, of Barony Court, Nantwich, appeared before South Cheshire Magistrates on Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on September 25.
