cheshire police - david webb, crane collapse

A third man who was involved in the horrific crane collapse on a South Cheshire building site has died, police confirm.

David Webb, 43, was badly injured in the incident on a new build site in Dunwoody Way, Crewe on June 21.

David Newall, 36, from Bradford, and Rhys Barker, 18, from Castleford were killed in the incident.

Now Cheshire Police has confirmed David Webb, who was taken to hospital, never recovered from his serious injuries and has died.

Police continue to work with the Health and Safety Executive, Cheshire East Council and Building Control to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

The family of father-of-two Mr Webb, originally from Northampton but living in St Neots with his partner, have paid tribute to him.

They said: “Dave died from doing a job that he loved and was very passionate about.

“Dave was a fun loving character who lived his life to the full.

“He was known for his large personality and sung his way through life.

“He will be sadly missed by his partner Nathalie, children Maisy and Charlie, his mum Jenny, his sister Julie, his brother Mark, their families and his many friends.

“It’s a heartbreaking time for the family as we lost Dave’s beloved father Alan six days before Dave passed away.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
