Young superheroes will soon be descending on a popular Nantwich beauty spot to help raise valuable funds for life-saving causes.
An action-packed family ‘Superheroes Picnic’ is being staged at Dorfold Park in Nantwich on July 9.
A group of volunteers based in Nantwich have a mission to raise as much money as possible from the event.
They have pledged the first £1000 to Ray of Hope, who now have enough money to buy a Bilirubin Meter to be used on Ward 23 at Leighton Hospital.
This offers a reliable, non-invasive method for screening babies for jaundice.
Every penny over this amount will also go to Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
Victoria Graham, one of the organisers of the event, said: “Every year we run an event to give families a day out to look forward to and raise much needed money for local charities.
“This year, we wanted to run the event at Dorfold Hall as the stunning Jacobean mansion backdrop seemed fitting for our Superhero theme.”
There will be plenty to keep children of all ages entertained as well as the bar area for the adults.
Families are encouraged to bring their own picnics, dress up as favourite superheroes, and relax in the gardens with plenty of hidden surprises.
A selection of activities include a Superheroes Training Academy, bouncy castles, inflatable football pitch, face painting, raffle, auction, soft play, food and drink stations, supercar display and more.
Discounted tickets are available in advance and can be collected from The Cheshire Cat or Street restaurants on Welsh Row in Nantwich, or online.
Advance ticket prices are £5 for adults, £2.50 for children, Under 3s are free.
From June 12-16, there is also a special offer when buying four adult tickets for £5 each, which will give the buyer four free child tickets (saving £10).
