mayor's quiz in civic hall

Nantwich Mayor hosted his Big Quiz to raise money for his selected charities – which turned out to be the most successful yet.

More than 180 people including local businesses, community groups and keen quiz fans came together to form a record number of 30+ teams at the Civic Hall.

Compere Chris Radford, of The Cat Community Radio, led the teams through music, general knowledge, sports and picture rounds.

And team ‘The Naughty Corner’ (pictured, below) scooped the highest score.

Quizzers also enjoyed a prize raffle with prizes donated by local businesses including The Sacred Orchard, Chatwins, Aroma, Miss Marmalades and others.

Charities to benefit from the evening are Nantwich based and include Nantwich In Bloom, Nantwich Museum and Nantwich Players.

Mayor of Nantwich Cllr Andrew Martin said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed hosting a quiz.

“It brings the community together, it’s great fun and it’s a delight to raise money for local charities.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
