A disabled South Cheshire teenager has been presented with a specialist sit-to-stand wheelchair by footballing legend Bryan Robson and National Children’s Charity, The Boparan Charitable Trust.
Nina Collins, 18, has severe cerebral palsy affecting all four of her limbs.
The new powered chair will give her greater independence, a chance to interact with friends on the same level and fulfil her dream of going to university next year.
England and Man United legend Robson was joined on a gruelling seven-day trek across the Sahara by ex-footballer Keith O’Neill and Food Exec Martyn Fletcher.
The trip raised thousands of pounds to support the work of the Boparan Charitable Trust and Manchester United Foundation, with funds from the trip funding Nina’s new set of wheels.
Nina said: “Thank you so much to Bryan, Keith and Martyn, you have made all my dreams come true.
“The chair opens my world and I cannot wait for university next year.”
Robson said: “It was truly inspirational to meet Nina.
“It has made all the hard work worthwhile and is hugely rewarding for me and the other two guys who took on the challenge.”
Baljinder Boparan, trustee for the charity, added: “Bryan and the team have been amazing.

The Boparan Charitable Trust is National Children’s Charity working with those who have disabilities, life limiting conditions or are in extreme poverty.
