Nantwich Olympic medalist Bryony Page returned to her roots to help Wrenbury’s Wingate Centre celebrate 25 years.
The silver medal-winning trampolinist took part in a bounce-a-thon with youngsters as part of the anniversary celebration.
The bounce-a-thon helped raise funds for the centre, where former Brine Leas student Page began her career.
She gave an inspiring speech to the audience, detailing the support and motivation the Wingate Centre had given her, and to the range of services on offer.
The Cheshire Gymnastics Display team were keen to show off their talents and rewarded the audience with two displays over the course of the day.
A total of 32 gymnasts took part in the Bounce-a-thon and together 24,821 bounces were recorded.
A final total for the event will be announced soon.
Jo Young, fundraising and marketing manager at Wingate Centre, said: “I was delighted with not only the number of people who were involved with the bounce-a-thon, but the enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge they shared in becoming better gymnasts.
“Bryony was an inspiration as she spread her words of wisdom and experience to children, parents and grandparents and joined with us in celebrating our 25th anniversary.
“All monies raised will be spent directly on children with complex care needs.”
