Nantwich Concert Band and Nantwich Young Voices raised more than £450 for Cancer Research at a church concert.

The groups staged a performance at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich in aid of Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK.

John Pass, Chairman of Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK, attended the band’s Family & Friends evening at The Vagrants in Willaston for the formal cheque presentation.

He accepted a cheque for £454.62 raised from the concert.

Bob Hutton, of Nantwich Concert Band, Victoria Palethorpe, of Nantwich Young Voices, and Reverend Stephen Snelling, Associated Rector of St Mary’s Church, were thanked.

Lesley Rowlands, treasurer of Crewe & Nantwich Cancer Research UK Committee, said: “We really like to support events in the local community and we are very grateful to the two groups and to St Mary’s Church.”
