Reaseheath College is to stage its popular Apple Festival this weekend.

Hundreds of local families will get to the core of fruit growing at the Nantwich college’s annual event on October 22 and 23.

The fruity festival, being held for the 25th consecutive year, features many rare varieties of apples and pears, some dating back to Roman times and some of more recent origin.

Visitors can bring in their own apples for pressing, identify varieties they have in their gardens, and taste apples on show.

Horticultural experts Derek Jones and Harry Delaney will be on hand to identify apple varieties, answer queries on fruit growing and propagation and help in the selection of new trees.

There will also be tours of Reaseheath’s new cutting edge commercial glasshouses, part of the college’s National Centre for Horticulture, the Environment and Sustainable Technologies.

Entry and parking is free and refreshments will be available.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
