If you know what a slam is, then you know what’s in store. If you don’t, then expect to be
entertained, moved, lifted and transported by competitive poetry, as the slammers bring
you everything in their arsenal to be crowned the Axis Slam Champ 2016.

And the stakes are higher than ever – our competing poets will win cash prizes and guest
slots at some of the best spoken word nights on offer – Evidently Salford, Sonnet Youth
Glasgow, Voicebox Wrexham, and Dublin’s Lingo festival.

Plus there will be debut UK performances from international guest poets including the
Slam Sunday Champion from Dublin and the Sonnet Youth Slam Champion from Glasgow.

Hosted by award-winning spoken word poet Ciarán Hodgers, this is your chance to sit back and enjoy the visceral and the vibrant, and witness the victorious!
Gathering poets from London, Scotland, Manchester, Yorkshire and beyond the Axis Slam will become a focal point for vibrant, lively voices on the 6th October, which just so happens to be National Poetry Day. (We certainly haven’t planned this at all…)

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
