A teenager who swept the board at the Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club (WJTC) Finals Day, has set his sights on LTA tournaments.

George Raiswell, aged 15, won the men’s singles and the men’s doubles at the Wistaston Memorial Hall & Community Centre on Church Lane.

George (pictured, serving), a pupil at Shavington Academy, is captain of Wistaston A team.

In the men’s singles final, George beat Paul Unwin 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.

Then in the men’s doubles final, he teamed up with Robert Sheffield to beat Nick Green and Roy Broughton 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Now George, who has played since he was aged 8, is hoping to take the next step in his tennis career and is hoping to find local backing.

“I am now ready to take my tennis to the next level and play more LTA tournaments all over the county and help improve my LTA rating,” said George.

“I have organised many charity tournaments, raising money for Sport Relief and Comic Relief.

“Last year I was asked to become captain of our Wistaston’s Men’s Doubles team.

“Over a 14-week season, we managed to lose only once and draw once, meaning we won 12 matches allowing us to top the league and get promoted to Division 2.

“I was very happy and proud to represent my club throughout Cheshire but then to get two promotions was even better!

“The time has now come for what I have been training and practising for.

“I believe I am ready technically and mentally to play LTA tournaments.

“Therefore, I am asking any local businesses around Cheshire who are interested in sponsoring me.”

George is hoping to raise £200 in sponsorship to pay for tournament entry fees and equipment.

“In return, I will promote your business by wearing clothing with your logo on, in both matches/tournaments and practise/coaching sessions,” he added.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
