Police have named the man allegedly murdered in a Crewe alleyway as Stephen John O’Brien.

Mr O’Brien, 51, from Crewe, was found with a stab wound in the chest in an alleyway off Edleston Road.

He died later in hospital on August 31.

Two men have been men have been remanded in custody in relation to the alleged murder.

Oliver Dabbs, aged 19, of Wood Street, Crewe, and Cameron Scragg, aged 20, of Gresty Road, Crewe have were both charged with murder.

Both Dabbs and Scragg appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court today (Monday, September 5) where they were remanded in custody.

The pair are set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday September 7.

A 46-year-old woman who was arrested has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Cheshire Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.
