Andy White, Newcastle Town friendly

Nantwich Town progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after they saw off Ashton United 3-0 at Hurst Cross.

The Dabbers went ahead through a rare Andy White (pictured) goal, as he pounced on a mistake to score in the 15th minute.

They defended stoutly and then added two more goals after the break through Osebi Abadaki and Josh Gordon to give them a convincing win.

In driving rain, Nantwich were first to get a chance, with a ball into the six-yard box side footed straight at Paul Phillips by Ryan Brooke inside a minute.

Ashton started to control possession, looking much improved on their last showing against the Dabbers.

Danny Wilkins had their first chance, shooting wide eight minutes into the game.

But Nantwich went ahead when White capitalised on a poor back pass by Connor to calmly round the keeper and squeeze the ball home at the near post.

Ashton fought back, saw more of the ball, but the Dabbers held them comfortably at arms length, reducing them to half chances.

The Dabbers lost Theo Stair to injury 10 minutes before half time and was replaced by Godwin Abadaki.

After the break, Nantwich began well with Osebi Abadaki shooting straight at Phillips only a few minutes in.

Sean Cooke fired a free kick over before the hosts once again started to turn up the pressure.

But Dabbers had chances to extend their lead, with Ryan Brooke’s effort tipped away before Riley headed straight at the keeper.

Nantwich soaked up pressure and counter-attacked at every opportunity and got their reward with 12 minutes to go.

They broke in numbers and the ball was fed to Osebi Abadaki by his brother Godwin.

He advanced into the penalty area and cooly slotted past Phillips.

Brooke made way for Josh Gordon shortly after the goal.

After only a few minutes on the pitch, Gordon wrapped up the game for the Dabbers.

He linked up well with Godwin Abadaki, making a smart one-two on the edge of the box.

He was played in on goal by Abadaki and he showed composure to put the ball under Phillips and into the bottom corner.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
