man rescued from river weaver in nantwich

A man has been pulled from the River Weaver in Nantwich by fire crews.

The incident happened by the bridge where Welsh Row meets Waterlode at around 7am today (August 6).

Fire crews from Warrington, Crewe and Chester were called out along with the service’s water incident unit from Warrington and the rope rescue unit from Knutsford.

Two fire fighters entered the river and managed to bring the man, who has not been named, safely to the riverbank.

Police were also in attendance as Waterlode was closed for a period of time.
