assault - man with serious injuries - police tape by jayneandd

Burglars have targeted rural properties around Nantwich in a week-long mini crime-wave.

Police in Nantwich are probing nine separate break-ins of outbuildings in villages in just six days.

Burglars targeted rural areas including Faddiley, Wrenbury, and Audlem.

And police fear there could be many more break ins which have not yet been discovered.

The incidents happened between June 30 and July 5.

Sgt Ian Bennett, of Nantwich Police, said: “Sometimes we can get a crime spike when we have travelling criminals, and we can tie it in with certain people being here.

“But we can’t say whether these incidents are connected.”

Items stolen from outbuildings and sheds include gardening equipment, compressors, tools and similar items.

“The criminals are not targeting homes or vehicles, they are specifically going for these other items,” added Sgt Bennett.

“There’s no specific target area, the incidents are spread out all over the area.

“And there could be more incidents which have not been discovered yet, with families on holiday or who have just not checked their outbuildings recently.”

Residents are urged to report thefts or any sightings of suspicious vehicles to Cheshire Police in 101.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
