tennis doubles action at Wistaston in South and Mid Cheshire League

Wimbledon might be around the corner, but South Cheshire tennis clubs are already on court, writes Jonathan White.

A number of clubs are battling it out to win the 2016 South & Mid Cheshire Tennis League.

Men’s, ladies and mixed doubles leagues are up and running, with teams from Nantwich. Wistaston, Audlem, Nantwich Farmers and Hightown competing.

The league due to be completed by the end of July.

Wistaston A, who play in the Men’s Division 3, are likely to be one of the first clubs to win promotion, as they have lost only once so far this season.

Their captain is teenager George Raiswell who is a pupil at Shavington Academy.

George said: “It is an honour to captain and play in the A team for my village.

“I hope we can continue to win many more matches this season.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
