Nantwich Cricket Club will host a tasty charity fundraiser to support people affected by motor neurone disease in Cheshire.
The local branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association will host their annual Strawberry Evening fundraiser on Thursday June 23.
Guests will tuck into strawberries and cream while enjoying entertainment and a raffle with a host of prizes to raise more cash for the cause as well as various stalls.
Joan Park, from Nantwich who is part of the organising team, said: “The Strawberry Evening is always a popular event and this year promises to be no different.
“All money raised will go towards supporting people living with MND in Cheshire and their families.
“The Cheshire branch couldn’t do what they do for people affected by this cruel disease without the support of local people – we hope lots of people in the area will come along for what promises to be a great evening, raising vital funds.”
MND is a progressive muscle wasting disease which claims the lives of 35 people a week in the UK.
It causes the death of the neurones that send messages from the brain to muscles.
Once the neurones die, muscles waste away and with them the ability to move, speak, swallow and breathe.
The event starts at 7pm at Nantwich Cricket Club, Whitehouse Lane.
Tickets are £7, from Joan Park on 01270 624980, email [email protected]
