Richmond Village Nantwich opened its doors to local clubs and societies who joined residents and guests in finding out just what “Life in Nantwich” is like.
As well as the village’s own bowls and amenities clubs, local groups who attended included the Crewe Senior Forum and South Cheshire Model Engineering Society.
Also there was Nantwich Museum, Royal British Legion, and Worleston WI.
They provided information on what each club can offer.
Mayor of Nantwich Cllr Andrew Martin also attended, and Village manager Lynne Griffin met Henry the service dog and his master Simon Harwood.
Henry is trained to help Simon with day to day chores but also warns him when his blood sugars are low.
Village driver Dave Hulse turned up in his lycra training outfit as he helps raise money for The Royal British Legion by competing a triathlon later in the year.
The afternoon finished with a music from clarinettist Susan Walker.
Meanwhile, the village received a gift from resident Avice Hunt.
She arranged for a van full of plants to be delivered for the village pond.
Miss Hunt, a keen gardener, said: “The pond is a lovely area but I thought it needed some more plants.
“So I contacted local business Ripples who have helped me to choose the right ones to ensure that it will look even better.”
The plants were delivered and Avice handed them over to head gardener Jonathan Basford.
