More than 400 entries are expected from Nantwich primary schools for an art and handwriting competition.
The contest is being run by the Rotary Club of Nantwich, and for the third year running, Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson will be presenting the prizes in Nantwich Museum.
Judges for the competition are local artists Martin Greenwood, a local architect, and Claire Somerville, an art teacher at Brine Leas School.
And they have the difficult job of sifting through all the entries and choosing the individual winners and follow footsteps of Jayden Bailey, from Acton School, who won in 2015.
This year for the first time, the competition will include entries for handwriting, which will be judged by Heidi Payton, an English and French teacher as well as a professional calligrapher.
Heidi found her interest in calligraphy while teaching in Japan.
The theme for the competition is “The Queen” to coincide with the celebrations for Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday.
The prizes and awards will be presented on Saturday May 14 at 11am in the Nantwich Museum by Edward Timpson MP and representatives of sponsors, The Charity of William Hodgkin and Sainsbury’s Nantwich.
The children’s work will be on display in the museum from May 10 until June 18.
