The Simon and Garfunkel Story 2

Music fans can look forward to the West End show ‘The Simon and Garfunkel Story’ which comes to The Lyceum Theatre in Crewe, writes Claire Faulkner.

Celebrating the story and lives of the sensational Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, this production promises to be one to remember.

The show has built a strong reputation and has an increasing loyal fan base.

Producer and writer Dean Elliot believes the success of the show not only comes from a great story, but also the talented musicians who are part of the production.

Dean told Nantwichnews: “What makes this show work and so special are the performers.

“Everyone involved has respect for the music, and this comes through and shows in their performance.

“The musicians and singers involved aren’t just going through the motions, they’re genuine fans who really enjoy the music.

“It’s also a great story which no one else has told.

“It has everything in it already which it needs to make a wonderful show.”

Simon and Garfunkel were one of the most popular recording artists of the 1960s.

And fans will be pleased to know the show contains all the well-known and well-loved songs.

“The performance of ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’, is one of my favourite parts,” adds Dean.

“It’s just a beautiful moment in the show.”

‘Cecilia’ and ‘The Sound of Silence’ also feature.

The show has been touring across the world for two years.

Dean believes the production team hit a wave straight away.

“It was the right time for the show, and when you can combine a genuine love of theatre and music, I knew people would enjoy it.”

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
