rotary and civic society volunteers paint aqueduct steps

Volunteers have been busy sprucing up areas around the Nantwich Aqueduct.

Members of the Rotary Club of Nantwich and Nantwich Civic Society have been out painting fences and handrails at the Aqueduct Steps.

Chair of Nantwich Partnership, Jeff Stubbs, said: “This job of smartening up this well-used landmark and access to the town, was one of Nantwich Partnership’s identified projects.

“With the main job of restoring the historic Aqueduct being recently completed, the local volunteers decided to make the area even smarter – using canal colours of black and white.

“We also cleared two areas where the Canal & Rivers Trust, in liaison with Nantwich Museum, will be installing Interpretation Boards about the canal and town centre.

“We received many complements during our three sessions over the past month of weed-clearing, fence-repairing and painting.

“Our thanks go to ANSA from Cheshire East Council who have been really helpful in assisting with materials and clearing the rubbish.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
