Nantwich’s British Trampoline champion Bryony Page will have a spring in her step when she opens the Wingate Children’s Centre “Bounce-a-thon”.

Bryony, who has just returned from the European Championships 2016 with Team Gold for GB, will be at the event on Sunday April 24.

It marks the start of a week of activities to launch the Wrenbury-based charity’s summer fundraising campaign.

The charity provides residential holidays and recreational sports activities for children with disabilities.

And the Bounce-a-thon will give families and friends of all ages and abilities a chance to trampoline with the current British Champion, who started her career at the centre.

Bryony, a Biology student at Sheffield University, said: “The Wingate Centre is where my trampolining career began, it’s an amazing facility that will always be close to my heart!

“The coaches and the centre staff have been a great inspiration to me as I have seen first-hand the support they offer for both able bodied and disabled children who want to take part in sports.

“I will always do whatever I can to help support the Centre’s incredible work.”

Entrance is free but participants are asked to collect sponsorship donations for each bounce they do.

On the same day, local mum-of-three Amanda Kimber will be running the London Marathon to raise £1,500 to raise for the charity.

Amanda (pictured, below) said: “I am delighted to be running the London Marathon on behalf of The Wingate Centre!

“All three of my children have attended the centre for gymnastics classes and other activities over the years and I hope it continues to be available for many more families to enjoy.

“Completing the marathon has also always been a dream, the training is well underway and I will be doing my upmost to raise as much money as I can for such a worthy cause that I
know will really benefit from the proceeds.”

The charity is launching its new appeal video in April, inviting schools and businesses to support it in reaching its £300,000 fundraising target by wearing yellow and blue, purchasing wrist bands or organising their own events.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
