A spring fair raised much-needed funds for the RSPCA’s specialist wildlife centre and cattery in Nantwich.
Stapeley Grange, in London Road, played host to the community as part of its annual event, where visitors were treated to an Easter egg hunt, music, arts, crafts, stalls, cakes and games – and helped to raise over £500.
Lee Stewart, manager at Stapeley Grange, said: “Our annual events like the Spring Fair are not only a great way for the community to come together for a day of fun, but also to raise funds to allow us to continue our great work for animals in need.
“The funds will contribute to the running of the wildlife hospital and rehoming cattery, helping to cover the costs of food, medical bills and shelter for the animals in our care.
“We’re thrilled we managed to raise such a great amount and it’s all down to our supporters and residents in the local area for coming along.
“Our volunteers really made the day so successful, by volunteering their time with promotion, donating prizes or helping on the day. We couldn’t have done it without them.
“Also a big thank you to Morrisons in Nantwich for donating all the chocolate eggs for our hunt, as well as some refreshments.”
The money raised will help the many animals in need, including cats Bella, Jasper and Gonzales (pictured, below).
The three cats were rescued from the floods that hit Cumbria during Storm Desmond in December last year.
Lee said: “The house where they lived was devastated in the floods and has not been habitable since.
“It will not ready again until later in the year so in the meantime this lucky trio are being cared for at Stapeley Grange.
“The three flood-rescued cats have settled in well but I am sure they are looking forward to going home soon.”
The trio are not available for rehoming, but there are many cats currently at Stapeley which are looking for a home.
Lee said: “If you feel you can offer that loving forever home, please get in contact with the team.”
The next Stapeley Grange fundraising event will take place on Saturday April 30, when a Ladies Pamper Day will take place from 12pm to 5pm.
A wildlife club for children will also run on the day so mums can take time out to enjoy the treatments on offer.
