Police want witnesses to a road accident in Crewe in which a 47-year-old pedestrian died.

The accident happened close to Queens Park, and involved a motorbike which was travelling towards the A530 Nantwich to Middlewich road.

The collision took place in Victoria Avenue outside the entrance to Queens Park at 5.20am on March 11.

A black and yellow motorcycle was travelling towards the A530 when it was involved in a collision with a man who was crossing the road.

The 47-year-old man from the Crewe area was taken to Leighton Hospital, and then transferred to North Staffs Hospital where he later died.

Sergeant Andy Dennison said: “Officers are currently investigating the collision and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and has witnessed what happened or seen anything significant to come forward.”

Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 102 of 11th March.
