George Heath and girlfriend Polly

The heartbroken family of Tarporley student George Heath have paid him a fitting tribute after his tragic death on the A49.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to the accident involving the former Tarporley High School pupil and an HGV lorry.

Hundreds of messages of support have comforted George’s brother Harry, parents Paul and Gaynor, and his girlfriend Polly (pictured with George).

Today, in a family statement, they said: “George was a popular and well-loved young man within the local community.

“He made many valued friends throughout his time at both Tarvin Primary School and Tarporley High School before gaining his A Levels at Tarporley Sixth Form College.

“Throughout this time he was a member of the Tarporley Karting Team where he enjoyed the camaraderie and won three National Sprint Championships in the process.

“George then went on to study at Staffordshire University where he made many more friends and met his wonderful girlfriend Polly who he cherished very dearly.

“Alongside his studies, George became a familiar face within the village of Tarvin whilst working at King Louis Takeaway, the Crocky Trail and most recently, the George and the Dragon.

“He was known for his charismatic personality and his fun-loving approach to life and will be very sorely missed by many in the area.

“In this absolutely devastating time for us, we take a small glimmer of warmth and pride from the level of support we have received in the last 24 hours via Facebook and from a number of close friends and family who are also coming to terms with the loss of a really great young man.

“You will live on in our hearts and you will never be forgotten. We are lost without you.

“RIP George. We love you and miss you.”

The collision took place shortly before 8am on Friday March 4.

Cheshire Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed what happened or anything in the run-up to the incident, is urged to contact the police on 101 quoting incident 155 of 4/3/16.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
