Tony Davison, chairman of Nantwich Town FC, in semi-final of FA Trophy

Nantwich Town will take on either Halifax Town or Gateshead in the semi-final of the FA Trophy following Saturday’s dramatic victory over Dover Athletic.

The Dabbers beat Dover 2-1 with a last gasp goal from Liam Shotton.

The victory for Phil Parkinson’s men sent almost 900 supporters into ecstasy and secured their place in the FA Trophy semi final draw which was made earlier today live on Talksport.

FC Halifax and Gateshead, who are both National League sides like Dover, will replay tomorrow night (March 1) to see who meets Nantwich.

Nantwich chairman Tony Davison (pictured) said he had “mixed emotions” after the draw.

“We avoided Grimsby who are flying and are the favourites, but it’s still a touch draw”, he said.

“Our boys will be up for it. They’ve shown they can beat anyone, after beating Dover and also Stockport County and Bradford Park Avenue in earlier rounds.

“It’s going to be a great occasion.”

The first leg of the semi-final will take place on Saturday March 12 at the Weaver Stadium.

And with League One neighbours Crewe Alexandra away at Gillingham that day, Nantwich will be hoping for a bumper home crowd to cheer them on.

The two sides will meet a week later for the second leg on Saturday March 19.

Nantwich have received hundreds of messages of support on social media from other clubs in the Evo Stik, as well as Dover supporters.

The other semi final will see Bognor Regis take on Grimsby Town.

The final will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday May 22.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
