Selected works by award-winning Cheshire artist Alex Jabore are on display at Nantwich Museum.
Her exhibition is running in the Millennium Gallery at the Pillory Street venue until Saturday March 26.
Inspired by classical artists, her work focuses on everyday domestic life, subjects viewers can identify. Still lives and portraits are employed to examine form and tone.
Alex studied at Falmouth University and has exhibited widely.
She said: “I often attempt tongue in cheek paintings, full of humour and the intimacy of everyday situations capable of invoking empathy and amusement in the viewer.”
In 2013, Alex won the Peak District Young Artist of the Year award and has been featured in numerous publications as a “youthful talent.”
In her first major solo show in London, she studied the subject of “Work in Progress” attempting, through a series of paintings, to examine the creative processes and technical choices a painter faces when composing a painting.
Entry to Nantwich museum and exhibition is free, and some of the paintings are available for sale.
