David Wilson Homes, Stapeley gardens phase 2 housing development

The second phase of the Stapeley Gardens housing development in Nantwich has been unveiled by David Wilson Homes (DWH) North West.

Phase two will see another 171 three, four and five bedroom homes built on the former Stapeley Water Gardens brownfield site between London Road and Peter de Stapleigh Way.

A total of 109 homes have been sold to date since its launch in 2013.

The developers say they have also paid £314,532 to Cheshire East Council towards primary education in the catchment area as part of Section 106 contributions.

Another £200,000 is ring-fenced for off-site highway works in the area to reduce the impact of extra traffic from the development.

This will be used towards a revised access junction and the off-site junction improvement at the A51 Newcastle Road/Elwood Way junction.

New traffic signal controls will be installed at the junction of A5301 Peter Destapleigh Way/A51 London Road and A51 Newcastle Road/A51 Elwood Way.

And an Urban Traffic Control (UTC) system will be used to link the signal operation at the two junctions together.

Steve Jackson, sales director at DWH North West, said: “The development will appeal to a number of home owners.

“Both Help to Buy and Part Exchange schemes will be available at Stapeley Gardens to help make home buying in this area more accessible.”

    I hope the designs are more modern than the first stage. To have no ground floor shower room facilities together with a room that could be a bedroom for an elderly or disabled relative is rather short sighted these days, I would certainly look to have that extra facility when I move next year.
