Year 7 students from Brine Leas School have created a poppy field after spending an activity week in Menai, Anglesey.

Pupils carried out research on the history of World War participants from their own families before the trip.

And their information was then used to produce individually designed commemorative poppies.

On their return to Nantwich, these were planted at the front of school to produce a ‘poppy field’, which visitors are welcome to view.

The exemplary work of Sophie Winward, who researched 2 of her great grand dads - sailor James Farmer and soldier Frank BeckettClaire Somerville, who organised the activity for Brine Leas School, said: “2015 was another fantastic year at Menai. A great collection of poppies were produced.

“The students thoroughly enjoyed researching their ancestors and designing their bespoke poppy.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
