Brine Leas School in Nantwich opened its doors to around 250 year 5 and 6 pupils as part of its annual Activity Day.

Youngsters from primary schools across Crewe and Nantwich were welcomed to the school to take part in a wide variety of fun workshops.

They were involved in practical activities such as making chocolate creatures in the cookery room to ceramic animals in the art room.

They also developed CSI skills in the laboratory while designing, making and launching their own rockets with the help of technology staff.

Some learned new game skills in the Sports Hall, while others were devising a street dance and rehearsing a scene from the hit musical ‘FAME’.

Staff and helpers gave up their time to run the Activity Day, which also helps give primary pupils a taste of life in secondary school.

Brine Leas headteacher Andrew Cliffe said: “It was a pleasure to see so many young students enjoying themselves.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
