Neil Sorvel - Nantwich Town FC Appoints a new managerial team

Nantwich Town assistant manager Neil Sorvel is hopeful they can bounce back from their Ilkeston defeat when the face Halesowen tomorrow (Tuesday October 6).

Sorvel feels the 3-1 defeat at Ilkeston was harsh as Nantwich were in control for most of the match.

Josh Hancock had scored first for Nantwich, but Ilkeston bagged three second half goals for victory.

Sorvel believes although the team was not at the usual performance level, they still deserved to walk away from the New Manor Ground with something.

“We didn’t play as well we have been doing, but for long periods of the game I thought we controlled it.

“We weren’t under any pressure so to not come away with anything is disappointing really.”

Sorvel blames lapses of concentration that could have been avoided for the goals they conceded.

“If you look at the three goals again they were all preventable, especially the first and the third.

“The lad got too much time and space in the box – it was too easy.

“I didn’t really feel like we were under pressure whereby you could see a goal coming, in fact it just came out of the blue really, so that was the disappointing thing.

“In the first half I thought we pretty much controlled the game. We managed to get in front so we go in with a good platform.
”

In the previous 12 games, Phil Parkinson’s men had netted 41 times.

“We keep saying to the lads you’re not going to score fours, fives and sixes every week,” Sorvel added.

“We need to be a bit more clinical and switched on at the other end of the pitch to make sure we don’t concede.

“Really we should come here and win that game 1-0, but if you defend as badly as we did do for those three moments you’re not going to win and you don’t deserve to.”

Nantwich travel to Halesowen tomorrow night, although some players could be in doubt for the clash due to knocks.

“We’ve had a couple of knocks, a couple of little injuries, so we’ll have a look at that,” added Sorvel.

“It’s another away game, it’s going to be another tough game and hopefully we’ll go again and we’ll pick up the three points.”

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
