24-hour Globalroll wrestle for Syrian crisis

A Nantwich martial arts fighter has taken part in a bruising 24-hour wrestle – all in aid of Syrian refugees.

Anya Lynette Hynes, 26, was involved in a fundraising ‘grapple’, called GlobalRoll.

Anya, from Wrenbury, was one of a hundreds of of Brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestling fanatics who teamed up around the country for the 24-hour effort.

The former Reaseheath College student took up martial arts after overcoming life-threatening condition acute myloid leukaemia as a youngster.

After the event, she said: “It’s been a very difficult challenge but I feel if I can get more sponsors it would be worth the pain for a very worthy cause!”

Organiser Chris Paines added: “Stories currently pouring out of Syria are of a humanitarian despair, a situation no living person should find themselves in.

“That is why I wanted us to react, in whatever way we can, to raise money to help these people.”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
