New chair of governors Richard Ratcliffe

Reaseheath College in Nantwich has appointed a new chair of governors, Richard Ratcliffe.

Mr Ratcliffe and his wife Gill farm in Nantwich and also operate a number of separate farming businesses across the UK.

He served as vice chairman of governors last year, and now takes over from Emily Thrane, who has retired.

Mr Ratcliffe said: “It is a great honour to take over as chair and a pleasure to follow Emily, who has set some very high standards for me to follow and develop.

“The governors are part of the Reaseheath team which helps to keep the college at the forefront of higher and further education, both regionally and further afield.

“This is an important and exciting time for this wonderful college and I am looking forward to helping to shape its future and to continue to see first hand the positive effect it has on so many young people.”

Reaseheath College, which has nearly 7,000 students, is one of the top specialist land-based colleges in the UK.

More than £45 million has been invested in the last six years on new facilities and halls of residence on campus and another £30 million building programme is underway.

A National Centre for Food Futures and the Environment is due to open soon.

And an advanced agri-technology centre is planned for 2016.

Reaseheath’s governing board is made up of members of the public, staff and students.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

  1. This could be bad news for people opposed to Genetically Modified crops, as I understand RR to be in favour of GM.
